Vote for our JULY 26th Movie!

Help us!  We want to know which animated film to show this year—

  • Moana--directed by Ron Clemente & Don Hall  —In Ancient Polynesia, when a terrible curse incurred by the Demigod Maui reaches an impetuous Chieftain’s daughter’s island, she answers the Ocean’s call to seek out the Demigod to set things right.
  • SING–directed by Christophe Lourdelet & Garth Jennings–In a city of humanoid animals, a hustling theater impresario’s attempt to save his theater with a singing competition becomes grander than he anticipates even as its finalists’ find that their lives will never be the same.
  • The LEGO Batman Movie-directed by Chris McKay–A cooler-than-ever Bruce Wayne must deal with the usual suspects as they plan to rule Gotham City, while discovering that he has accidentally adopted a teenage orphan who wishes to become his sidekick.

June 21st @ 8:40 PM “The Princess Bride”

“The Princess Bride” Directed by Rob Reiner

a classic comedy from 1987

Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Robin Wright, Chris Sarandon, Christopher Guest,Wallace Shawn, Andre the Giant, Fred Savage, Peter Faulk

To cheer his ill grandson up, Grandpa reads him a story; The Princess Bride, a tale of the love between the beautiful Buttercup and the stable boy Westley, a love cruelly interrupted by Westley’s tragic apparent death at sea when seeking his fortune. Heartbroken, Buttercup has sworn never to love again, but accepts the marriage proposal of the rich and handsome heir to the throne of Florin; but death is no barrier to true love, and in a story filled with exotically-accented swordsmen, big-hearted giants, sadistic torturers, vile swamps, Rodents of Unusual Size, the Dread Pirate Roberts and a somewhat embittered miracle worker, the story twists and turns on a path filled with adventure. Will the True Love win the day? Will Inigo Montaya find the six-fingered man who murdered his father? Will Humperdinck’s evil plans come to fruition?

As a tribute to him, and to reconcile his yearly requests, we are screening the favorite movie of Dan, one of our longest serving volunteers, before he sets sail around the world, in the hope that he too will get sick of living as the dread Pirate Roberts and one day return.
